OptionClaws ("the Service") is operated by VirWare LLC ("VirWare", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Service at optionclaws.com and any related applications.

2. Types of Data We Collect

Information you provide:

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive limited billing metadata (such as the last four digits of your card, plan purchased, and payment status) needed to manage your subscription.
Content you create. Saved scans, watchlists, alert settings, and other preferences you configure in the Service.
Communications. Messages you send us, such as support requests.

Information collected automatically:

Usage data. Pages viewed, features used, scans run, clicks, and similar interaction data.
Device and log data. IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and timestamps.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. See Section 5.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

Provide, operate, maintain, and personalize the Service;
Authenticate you and secure your account;
Process payments and manage subscriptions and trials;
Send transactional messages (receipts, alerts you enable, service announcements);
Send marketing and promotional communications about the Service, such as feature announcements, tips, and offers (see "Communications" below);
Understand usage to improve the product, and to research and develop new products, features, and services;
Train, test, and improve the models, algorithms, and analytics that power the Service;
Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues, including free-trial and promotional abuse;
Enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements;
Comply with legal obligations.

Aggregated and de-identified data. We may aggregate or de-identify information so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to you, and we may use and share such data for any lawful purpose without restriction — for example, usage statistics, product benchmarks, and market research.

Communications. We may send you marketing and promotional emails about the Service. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us at optionclaws@gmail.com. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional messages (such as receipts, security notices, and alerts you have enabled), which we send as part of operating the Service.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal data: (a) to perform our contract with you; (b) for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service; (c) with your consent, where required (which you may withdraw at any time); and (d) to comply with legal obligations.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies (authentication, security), functional cookies (preferences), and analytics cookies and similar identifiers set by our analytics providers, PostHog and Google Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may break sign-in or other functionality. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.

6. Third-Party Services We Use

We share data with service providers only as needed to run the Service:

Firebase Authentication (Google) — sign-in and account security;
Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics (Google) — usage measurement and product analytics. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy; you can opt out with Google's browser add-on;
PostHog — product analytics;
Stripe — payment processing and subscription management;
Amazon Web Services — hosting and infrastructure;
Market data providers — to supply quotes and options data (they do not receive your personal information).

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and appropriate data-processing terms.

7. How We Share Information

We share personal information only: (a) with the service providers listed above; (b) if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process; (c) to protect the rights, property, or safety of VirWare, our users, or the public; (d) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (we will notify you of any such change); or (e) with your consent.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data while your account is active and as long as needed for the purposes described above. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, download, or delete your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email optionclaws@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

11. U.S. State Privacy Notice

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information we hold about you, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. International Transfers

We are based in the United States and process data there. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. under safeguards recognized by applicable law.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by updating the date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice in the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
